Before resort lobbies and infinity pools polished Tahiti into brochure gloss, there was Quinn’s.
Right on the Papeete waterfront, under the shadow of the mountains and the smell of salt, diesel, flowers, and rum, Quinn’s Tahitian Hut became one of the most legendary bars in the South Pacific. Sailors staggered in. Writers took notes. Musicians found gigs. Painters found models. Marlon Brando eventually found the island itself.
This design captures that vanished harbor world in the style of an old 1930s newspaper engraving: bamboo-front saloon, trading schooners, flying boats overhead, steamers easing into port, and the long volcanic silhouette of Tahiti rising behind it all like a stage backdrop somebody forgot to strike.
Printed in rich vintage brown ink on a sun-faded ivory field, this shirt feels less like merchandise and more like something rescued from a dockside trunk at the end of the world.
Papeete, Tahiti.
