Quinn’s Tahitian Hut — “Leeteg Drank Here… A Lot” Tee

This wasn’t the postcard version of Tahiti.

This was the waterfront after midnight.

Quinn’s Tahitian Hut sat on Rue du Commandant Destremau in Papeete, where French sailors, cargo crews, beachcombers, wandering artists, Foreign Legion veterans, and very questionable philosophers drifted together under slow fans and louder music. If you stayed long enough, eventually somebody would dance on a table, disappear with a stranger, or attempt to explain Gauguin using only rum and hand gestures.

And somewhere in the middle of it all sat Edgar Leeteg.

The notorious painter behind black velvet Tahiti practically used Quinn’s as a field office. He drank there. Recruited there. Argued there. Collected stories there. Probably owed somebody money there. The shirt’s tiny line:
“Leeteg drank here… a lot”
feels less like advertising and more like a legal deposition.

The design pulls from old bamboo matchbook graphics and dockside signage, printed in deep navy ink against a blazing tropical pink that looks like sunset over diesel smoke and neon beer signs.

This is not resort wear.

This is “last launch leaves at dawn and nobody’s fully sure where Pierre went” wear.
