In the 1970s, Pan Am helped turn Hawai‘i into the center of modern surf culture by making the islands suddenly reachable to mainland dreamers carrying single-fin boards and absolutely no backup plan. Cheap flights changed surfing forever. The world got smaller. The waves got crowded. The legends got larger.
This graphic feels pulled straight from a weathered contest tee bought beside the beach and worn for the next forty years without apology. Grainy surf photography. Distressed typography. Deep-blue ink fading like an old postcard left on a dashboard in Waikiki.
“World Tour of Surfing” carries just enough unnecessary confidence to be perfect.
The whole thing smells spiritually of reef wax, coconut sunscreen, airplane cabins, and somebody strumming badly on a guitar outside a rented beach shack after dark.
