Panther Hall – Cowtown Jamboree – Fort Worth Vintage Tee

Before Fort Worth had Billy Bob’s, Panther Hall was already shaking the dust from the rafters.

Opened as a live-music venue in 1963, Panther Hall became one of Texas country music’s great proving grounds. On Saturday nights, its stage was broadcast into living rooms across North Texas as KTVT’s Cowtown Jamboree, while the dance floor filled with boots, beer, rhinestones and enough hairspray to withstand a blue norther.

The guest list reads like somebody emptied a jukebox onto the stage: Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Conway Twitty, Tanya Tucker, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino and many more. Willie Nelson recorded his 1966 live album Country Music Concert there, while Jerry Lee Lewis and Charley Pride also captured live albums inside the hall.

The building itself began life as an eight-sided bowling alley before being transformed into a futuristic-looking country palace at 600 South Collard Street. Panther Hall closed in 1978 and was later demolished, but its legend still prowls through Fort Worth music history.

This vintage-inspired tee salutes the Cowtown Jamboree era with longhorn artwork, distressed lettering and bold Panther Hall typography.
