Dai Vernon spent decades becoming the magician other magicians whispered about. Known simply as “The Professor,” Vernon helped define modern sleight-of-hand and built a reputation that stretched from private card rooms to the Magic Castle itself. His legend only grew after the famous story that he fooled Houdini, a feat that turned a quietly brilliant technician into one of magic’s enduring folk heroes.

Rendered in a vintage halftone engraving style, this design captures Vernon exactly where he belongs: cigarette burning low, cards in hand, eyes down, brain moving three steps ahead of the room.
